Félix Edugène was born in Petionville in 1939. His began his career in cabinet making, ceramics and sculpture. He later attended the Academie des Beaux-Arts and joined the Centre d'Art in 1959 at Jasmin Joseph's recommendation. Dewitt Peters bought Felix's first painting for $3 which had been done with borrowed brushes and paint. Edugène has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Haiti. Illustrations of his painting can be seen in Eva Pataki's book, “Haitian Painting Art and Kitsch” and John Allen Franciscus' book, " Haiti Voodoo Kingdom To Modern Riviera".
