Nicholas Dreux was born on March 08, 1956 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He began painting as a student of Calixte Henri in 1973. Dreux paints using a razor blade, laying the paint thickly in some spots and shaving it to transparency in others. After this, he accentuates some elements of the painting with the corner of the blade. This is a very unique technique indeed.
“Totally charming...and a great look. This painting is on mounted on masonite and is a beautiful study of a group of people standing in the middle of the country road having conversation. The artist paints with a razor blade; laying on the paint thickly in some spots and scraping it to transparency in others. After this, he accents some elements of the painting with the corner of the blade. The painting is wonderfully complimented with green fabric used as the background and a gold tone frame. This painting is authentic and fully guaranteed. ”
