Jackson Baptiste was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, 1967. He began painting at the age of 13. Not long after, he abandoned painting with brushes in favor of razor blades and palette knives, which lent a certain transparency and uniqueness to his paintings. Mostly self-taught, he is inspired by the work of Claude Monet and Pierre-August Renoir. Like these master artists, he too paints the impressionistic style on canvas. His favorite subjects are seascape and scenes of peasants' life. Baptiste currently resides in Alpharetta, GA, and is employed by Unisource Worldwide in Norcross, GA. He holds a BS degree in Finance and a Master's degree in International Business. Outside his love for painting, he enjoys playing tennis, judo and basketball.
