Jean Louissaint

Jean Philippe Louissaint was born on October 31, 1974 in Leogane, Haiti. He began sculpting at the age of 16 years old with the legendary Haitian sculptor Ronald Laratte. He is a self taught artist. Using river stones, he creates a wide range of complex and sophisticated sculptures. His favorite subjects are mermaids, masks, dancers and female figures. His female figures are sensual, graceful, romantic and elegant. He has exhibited in Sogebank in 96, Gallerie Galata in 98, Onart in 99 and in Germany in May 2000.
