Georges Paul Hector receives some commissions for portraits. It was at this time, more precisely in 1963, that he painted his "Flora", named after the cyclone which, October 3 of that year devastated the country, especially the departments of the South and West. This is a typical portrait. There are errors in the anatomy of course, but the form here is of less importance. Everything happens at the level of the subject's face. We cannot say that the woman represented is beautiful. Any quest for beauty would be useless here. The truth of this portrait is that it is in the eyes of this woman, on her open mouth, by the light which illuminates her, that the horror with which she is confronted can be read.
